Projects, products, tinkering…something needs to justify my annual bill for domain names.

• RSOLV — Highly opinionated, TDD-inflected security scanner and mitigator. Triaging static scanner output sucks, and the New Way of just letting AI ship fixes to everything is unsettling. RSOLV writes specs describing the desired, secure behavior and then checks if the scanner-identified vulnerabilities pass or fail. THEN it ships the fix.
• HailPass — Hyperlocal hail warnings (SMS and email) for the Colorado front range.
• Broomsday — Day-before and morning-of alerts for Denver street parking users before street sweeping days. Filtered for city holidays.
• GamLight — Collaboration with Pa Demba, a Gambian carpenter, to build and install passive solar bottle lighting in schools across The Gambia. Probably my favorite thing I’ve ever been a part of.
• Possumus — My take on POSSE: a no-interface Elixir fanout daemon. As configured for me, it watches this very site’s RSS feed and syndicates out to Substack and Kit, leaving the canonical copy right here. I wrote about it in Substack, Posse, and the age of intellectual deindustrialization.
• ds4-plan — antirez’s DarkStar 4 for running DeepSeek 4 Flash directly on Metal on Apple Silicon is super cool. ds4-plan is my config and wrappers. If you’re also on a 128GB M4 Max, this turns few decisions into zero decisions.
• Casbah — I love self-hosting, and LoRa is Neat. Casbah is a Reticulum mesh network configured across LoRa, Nomad Network, and I2P, so it’s a nice block-level communications setup that works (albeit slowly) when typical infrastructure doesn’t. Not especially helpful published, but I do owe this one a nice writeup at some point.

The Crypt

• milehigh.community — A Pleroma instance I stood up when it felt like building a local community on the Fediverse was the obvious next thing. Maintenance was a bit of a pain, but mostly it turns out that the intersection between people passionate about connecting with folks in their immediate physical neighborhood and people that want to spend more time staring at their phone is…predictable, I guess?
• avail.space — Before Reclaim.ai started, calendar sync (especially outside of Google Calendars) was a HUGE pain in the ass. I typically onboard into multiple clients every year and have separate calendars for clients, agencies, my own business, my family, and myself, so started hacking on this back around 2020. More than happy to pay someone to solve this problem for me, and now everyone does it: Reclaim, Calm Calendar, inband in Fantastical, and other services that fit me less well.
• todaybuteasy.com — When early-newborn parenting through Covid, I made heavy use of my local pizza shop’s (brilliant!) app functionality. When it opened you had two options: New Order (a normal pick-and-purchase flow) and Repeat Last Order. The latter popped a confirmation and that was it; pizza showed up at your door within the hour. I wanted to build that for more things. But by the time I had time to build it, my desperation level for time and decisionmaking capacity was reduced and client load growing. So it goes.
